The Villains hinted their move for Abraham was close by tweeting a GIF of UK Prime Minister Theresa May dancing during her official visit to South Africa.
They wrote: “When you realise a loan signing ‘may’ be imminent,” alongside the GIF of May busting some moves.
Villa have since confirmed their move for Abraham who has joined the Championship side on a season-long loan.
He said: “I’m excited for this new chapter.
“Aston Villa are a big club that belongs in the Premier League and I’m here to help them achieve that.
“At this stage of my career, I need games and this is a great place for me to come and showcase my talent. I can’t wait to get started.
The 20-year-old heads to Villa Park off the back of a lacklustre season with previous loan club Swansea City.
He netted eight goals in all competition – including five in the Premier League.
Abraham joins Yannick Bolasie, Anwar El Ghazi and Andre Moreira as the club’s new additions this summer.
He could make his debut for Villa during this weekend’s meeting with Sheffield United.
Abraham’s new club team-mate Jack Grealish welcomed the England under-21s star by tweeting a snap of the pair together on international duty with the caption “welcome brother” alongside the raising hands emoji, a kissing emoji, a heart and a football.
