The Fantasy Premier League season has only just begun but some bosses will be entering panic mode already after a tricky gameweek.
Very few of the high-profile players turned up for GW3, with a very low average score compared to the first two weeks of high-powered action.
However, there are still several stars in strong form as the season approaches September – but who are the hottest talents right now?
Despite the lack of obvious strikers and midfielders taking the league by storm, several defenders are proving to be excellent prospects.
Chelsea star Marcos Alonso has delighted his owners with four assists, a clean sheet and a goal across his three appearances.
He has logged double points in every gameweek so far, and would’ve had even more points if his effort against Newcastle had drilled straight in without a touch off DeAndre Yedlin.
Alonso isn’t the only scintillating left-back so far this season, with Liverpool and Manchester City offering tremendous options at the back.
Andrew Robertson is part of a Reds defence which is yet to concede a goal in 2018/19, while Benjamin Mendy offers terrific potential.
The City star has proven his attacking talents with plenty of dangerous crosses that have resulted in four assists so far, with many more expected throughout the season.
Watford left-back Jose Holebas has also become an unlikely in-form player after a strong start to the season by the Hornets.
Elsewhere on the pitch, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is among the top 10 in-form players, but isn’t the highest Reds midfielder on the list.
Sergio Aguero also ranks highly, though the majority of his points came from his hat-trick against Huddersfield.
