Spurs are desperate to sign the playmaker, however, they are yet to meet Villa’s valuation of their star man.
The Villans have snubbed numerous bids from Tottenham for Grealish, 22.
Reports have claimed Spurs will table a £30m offer for Grealish before today’s 5pm deadline.
Villa are desperate to keep hold of the star midfielder, who was instrumental for the Championship side last time out.
However, former Spurs and Villa boss Sherwood says he’s confident Grealish will head to White Hart Lane today.
“I still think it will still get done, there’s a will on both sides,” Sherwood told talkSPORT.
“Jack obviously wants to go now, he’s got an opportunity to go to a club in the Champions League and I honestly believe it will get done.
“I don’t think it will look good on the new owners of Aston Villa to sell their prize asset, but I think it was too far down the line before they arrived at the club.
“I think they might have to just let everyone get what they want.
“Unfortunately for Villa and their fans, they are a massive club in their own right and they don’t want to lose Jack Grealish who is such a good player for them.”
Tottenham are yet to complete a deal this summer, with Spurs fans desperate for Mauricio Pochettino to splash the cash.
Reports today claimed Grealish is set to sign a bumper new contract at Villa Park.
The Championship side want to double his £20,000-a-week wages.
However, Grealish is upset about not getting his dream Premier League move.
The playmaker dreams of playing in the Champions League – and Spurs can offer him that.
There will be a clause in Grealish’s new Villa contract that will let him quit Villa Park next summer if they don’t get promoted.
Villa got off to a perfect start in their Championship season on Monday as Steve Bruce’s men beat Hull 3-1.
The Villans face Wigan on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
MOOTED DEALS AS THE TRANSFER DEADLINE LOOMS
France’s World Cup-winning midfielder has been subject to a concerted push from Barcelona to prise the 25-year-old away from Old Trafford. Pogba is in his second spell at United, with a stint at Juventus sandwiched in between. Tensions appear to have built between the all-action star and Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, with Barcelona appearing ready to pounce.
Harry Maguire/Toby Alderweireld/Jerome Boateng
Manchester United’s dogged pursuit of a top-class centre back is expected to end with the capture of one of this trio. Leicester’s Harry Maguire has been a summer-long target for United, but his fine World Cup exploits with England have pushed up the Foxes’ valuation of one of their top assets. Spurs defender Alderweireld has been eyeing a move away from the north London club for some time now, and could be about to get his wish. Bayern defender Boateng has emerged as a possible fall-back option for United in the last few days.
Playmaker Grealish had appeared on the brink of an Aston Villa exit, with Tottenham the chief suitors. But Villa’s new owners are rumoured to be close to rebuffing the latest in a long line of attempts to prise the 22-year-old away from Birmingham.
Frankfurt midfielder Rebic lit up the World Cup as Croatia stormed to the final, leaving the 24-year-old’s services in high demand across Europe. Manchester United are rumoured to top that list of suitors, and still have time to conclude a deal to bring him to Old Trafford.
