Everton are close to winning the £30million race to land Celtic’s highly rated left-back Kieran Tierney, rated as one of the best talents north of the border in many years.
Everton boss Marco Silva wants to add the Scotland international to his squad before the transfer window closes in two weeks.
Tierney who played a major role in helping Celtic win the Scottish treble for the second campaign in a row last season, has also been watched by Manchester United.
They are willing to give the Scot – who signed for the Hoops as a seven-year-old and is under contract until 2021 – a five-year-deal worth an initial £65,000 a week.
He has been voted both the Professional Footballers’ Association and Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year for the past three seasons.
Ukraine international Aleks Zinchenko wants to fight for his Manchester City future and become the club’s new Yaya Toure.
Zinchenko has rejected a £16m move to Wolves to stay at the Premier League champions where he has an eye on filling the holding midfield spot vacated by Toure.
Fulham have also shown interest in Zinchenko, who joined City two years ago for around £1.7m.
Zinchenko said: “Manchester City are one of the best teams in the world.
“I’m going to fight here. I’m ready for everything. I have to be professional. I’m dreaming of staying here. Everyone wants to stay in this team.”
Four Serie A clubs are slugging it out to bring Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian back home to Italy for £15million.
Darmian made just 17 United appearances last season.
