TWITTER really is a gift and a curse at times… just ask the BBC.
During today’s coverage of France vs Australia, the Beeb looked back at the instant classic that was Spain’s 3-3 draw with Portugal.
The man of the moment was Cristiano Ronaldo with his hat-trick leaving many believing it ended the debate over who is the greatest player on the planet.
However, not only have his goals been courting attention, but also a video of him with a pair of mascots.
The video shows the Real Madrid star acknowledging one of the star-struck youngsters – before the pair look at each other in sheer awe.
But look closely enough and you can clearly make out the Euro 2016 logo littered all over the sleeves of the players and match officials.
Frustratingly for the BBC, the original poster of the video managed to con the internet into believing it was from last night.
The Beeb mentioned the video during their coverage, with presenter Mark Chapman telling viewers about the touching moment.
During the game itself, Ronaldo got Portugal off to a flying start with an early penalty, before Diego Costa levelled.
Ron and Costa exchanged goals again before Nacho scored to give Spain a 3-2 lead… with Ronaldo’s last-minute stunner meaning the spoils were shared.
