Paris St-Germain sale…
This could be good news for Premier League clubs.
Paris St-Germain must sell £52.9million worth of players by the end of June in order to meet financial fair play regulations.
The French champions bought Neymar for £200million, more than double the previous price paid for a player, and later signed Kylian Mbappe on loan from Monaco with an option to buy after one season.
That deal means PSG could pay £165.7m for him this summer.
Although PSG were cleared of breaking UEFA’s break-even rules following last summer’s transfer spending spree, the BBC claim they require £52.9m to balance the books and that will come from player sales.
Stefan Savic odds
Chelsea have been installed as favourites to sign Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic, according to the bookies.
The Blues are searching for a replacement for David Luiz, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
And bookmakers BetStars believe the Blues are narrowly ahead of Juventus priced at 11/8.
BetStars director of trading Ian Marmion said: “La Liga defender Stefan Savic has come a long way since his short-lived spell at Manchester City, establishing himself as an integral part of Atletico Madrid’s backline. As a result, the Montenegrin has sparked a transfer tug-of-war between Europe’s elite clubs.
“Chelsea lead the way as the 11/8 favourites to sign the experienced centre-back this summer as they look to rebuild their squad after a disappointing Premier League title defence last season. Juventus follow just behind at 2/1 to recruit the 27-year-old in a bid to strengthen their defensive options following the departure of Stephan Lichtsteiner to Arsenal.”
Harvey St Clair
Chelsea’s teenage winger Harvey St Clair is expected to join Italian club Venezia.
St Clair, 19, has impressed for Chelsea’s Under-23 squad but doesn’t see an opportunity to break into the senior squad.
And according to the Daily Mail, the Scotland Under-21 international is undergoing a medical with Serie B outfit Venezia.
St Clair is expected to sign a four-year contract having decided to ignore interest from Watford and Zenit St Petersburg.
Eden Hazard to Real Madrid
Eden Hazard is no longer a target for Real Madrid, it’s claimed in Spain.
Reports have claimed Real Madrid are readying a mammoth bid for the Stamford Bridge talisman, with Florentino Perez desperate to sign a Galactico this summer.
However, according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, incoming Real manager Julen Lopetegui doesn’t want Hazard.
Lopetegui instead plans to give Real ace Marco Asensio more game time at the Bernabeu over splashing the cash this summer.
Jack Grealish offer
Tottenham have tabled a bid for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
The talented 22-year-old is being tracked by Chelsea and Fulham, but it’s Mauricio Pochettino’s side who have landed the first blow.
Sky Sports say Spurs have offered £15million for the England Under-21 international, who netted three goals and provided five assists last term.
Aston Villa value Grealish at closer to £30million, but their financial problems have seen a number of clubs accelerate their interest.
The report continues to offer hope to Chelsea. It’s thought their proposal would see Grealish loaned back to the Championship club next season.
Arsenal and Chelsea will play a pre-season friendly in Dublin, Ireland.
The two sides were due to play in Stockholm, Sweden on August 4.
But Chelsea’s FA Cup success means they will now play in the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 5.
And as a result, the August 4 fixture has been moved forward to August 1 at the 51,700 seater Aviva Stadium, kick-off at 8.05pm (UK time).
Stefan Savic talks
Chelsea and Juventus are both reportedly locked in talks to sign Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic.
The 27-year-old has been a back up to the first-choice pairing of Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez.
Chelsea are in the market for a centre-back with David Luiz increasingly likely to leave Stamford Bridge after he was frozen out of Antonio Conte’s plans last term.
Juventus on the other hand need a centre back after letting Stephan Lichtsteiner join Arsenal on a free transfer.
And according to Sky Italia, both the Blues and Juve are in the hunt for Savic.
It is said that the duo have already held negotiations over a summer deal for the Montenegro international, who has previous Premier League experience having turned out for Manchester City.
