Respected West Ham in-the-know @ExWHUemployee posts the latest updates on Twitter and is a reliable source of news.
Ex, as he is known, revealed all the Hammers signings before they were announced last summer and has spoken out on the latest possible deals.
The first is for out-of-contract Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks. The 25-year-old helped the Cottagers win promotion through the play-offs but has refused to sign a new deal.
Southampton and Crystal Palace are also keen but Ex is predicting he could end up at the London Stadium.
Asked who is the closest player to sign for West Ham, Ex replied: “If I had to predict I would say Fredericks and it will be completed by this time next week or earlier however it isn’t a done deal and there is other interest so don’t quote me.”
He could join Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles at the London Stadium.
Ex added: “Can’t remember if I said this on the show yesterday or not-there is interest in Newcastle defender Lascelles but at the moment the club want too much for him.(Statement to geordies reading this-I’m not saying he has joined West Ham meerly we have interest like I did with rafa).”
While there is also interest in Lazio’s Felipe Anderson. The 25-year-old winger scored four goals and provided seven assists in 21 appearances in Serie A last season.
New boss Manuel Pellegrini had considered a move for Adama Traore, the Middlesbrough winger who has impressed in the Championship, but it appears Anderson is a more likely option.
When questioned on whether there was truth in the Anderson rumours, Ex replied: “Yes I believe there is. Pellegrini wants a pacey winger and had considered Traore too (forgot to mention wingers on show). Problem with the Lazio player is that there are a load of clubs after him. There is another pacey winger from France on the radar too.”
The Hammers are also in talks to sign Genoa defender Armando Izzo and they are reportedly also interested in Barcelona’s Marlon Santos and West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez.
