Fred arrives in the UK
Fred has flown to England with Manchester United hoping to seal a deal to make him their first summer signing in the coming days.
Fred is with the Brazil squad as they train at Tottenham’s training facilities ahead of the World Cup, and Jose Mourinho wants to get a deal done before he leaves the UK next week.
Brazil will fly to the north-west on Friday, ready to face Croatia in a friendly at Anfield on Sunday, and that itinerary could fit perfectly into Mourinho’s plans.
The Manchester United boss wants to have Fred signed from Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk and the addition of Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld both wrapped up before the World Cup kicks off.
United have agreed a fee of around £53m with Shakhtar Donetsk and are close to sorting personal terms.
Fred could then undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the deal before the week is up.
Transfer News: Fabinho completed his £43m move to Liverpool yesterday
‘I can see Willian at Man Utd’
Willian could join Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, according to former Chelsea midfielder Pat Nevin.
The Brazilian playmaker is pushing to leave Stamford Bridge if Antonio Conte remains at the helm, and Sky Sports claim Manchester United are interested in securing his signature.
Asked if Willian could join former colleague Nemanja Matic at Old Trafford, Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk: “I can see Willian as a Man United player under Mourinho.
“Although he is a tricky player, he can be direct and do the right things. If there is a rift and Antonio Conte stays, that’s the obvious place for him to go.”
Fabinho snubbed Man Utd
Fabinho decided to snub Manchester United and join Liverpool because of Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazil international completed his £43m move to Anfield yesterday, with the midfielder officially becoming a Liverpool player on July 1.
Fabinho, 24, had been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with United boss Jose Mourinho chasing the ex-Monaco star.
And according to Yahoo Sport, Klopp was pivotal in Liverpool landing Fabinho ahead of United and Manchester City.
“Klopp convinced Fabinho to join Liverpool,” a source close to Fabinho told Yahoo.
“They met and the boy was very happy with what the manager told him. He said ‘I like Klopp’, and asked that everything be stopped with other clubs.”
Transfer News: Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Kylian Mbappe
Ryan Sessegnon interest
Manchester United have reportedly considered making a move for Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon.
Jose Mourinho’s carefully plotted transfer business has gone hand-in-hand with changing squad dynamics, with Anthony Martial believed to be frustrated over a lack of game time.
Martial missed out on a place in Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the World Cup and that snub came amid claims he is looking to leave Old Trafford.
The Manchester Evening News have now offered an insight into who Manchester United could have targeted to replace the 22-year-old.
They say United were prepared to swoop for Sessegnon had Fulham not won the Championship play-off final against Aston Villa.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side’s 1-0 win means Sessegnon is now expected to stay put for at least one more season – somewhat derailing United’s plan.
The Manchester Evening News indicate United have no intention of selling Martial, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Juventus sniffing around him.
That stance will apparently only change if the former Monaco ace demands a move away from Old Trafford this summer.
Transfer News: Man Utd have told Gareth Bale to force through a Real Madrid exit
Kylian Mbappe to Man Utd
Jose Mourinho wants to launch an audacious swoop for Paris St-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, sensational reports claim.
The Portuguese tactician is looking to bolster his attacking options to close the gap on Premier League champions Manchester City.
And Spanish website Don Balon claim Mbappe, 19, has been identified as a priority signing.
They say that Mourinho wants a ‘glittering star’ through the door at Old Trafford this summer and plans to rival Real Madrid for his signature.
PSG signed Mbappe from Monaco on a season-loan loan and will have to pay a staggering £166million to complete a permanent deal over the next two years.
But Don Balon suggest that UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules could see him leave the Parc des Princes.
Mbappe has already sparked doubts over his long-term future with PSG having admitted that he is unlikely to see out the entirety of his five-year contract.
“I have a five-year contract and I am happy here,” Mbappe said. “PSG have given me the opportunity to play and develop. Next year, I will be here, but all five years of my contract? I do not know. We will see – that is football.”
Gareth Bale message
Manchester United have reportedly told Gareth Bale to force through a Real Madrid exit.
The Wales international put Jose Mourinho on red alert after Real’s Champions League final victory against Liverpool, with the ex-Spurs star claiming he needs to get regular game time.
Express Sport understands United fear they may be priced out of landing Bale, 28, with Real demanding £200m for the winger.
The Red Devils would also have to match Bale’s £650,000-a-week wages, which would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League – ahead of Alexis Sanchez.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, United have told Bale he will have to force through a move to Old Trafford.
Mourinho isn’t willing to overpay for the forward this summer.
And the Special One hopes Bale demanding a move would reduce Real’s asking price for their star man.
Don Balon add that Bale wants to join United this summer, meaning the Wales talisman could be open to the Red Devils’ proposal.
